September Contest 2007
DR 2
X
in JO4Øql on
144.355 MHz
We
thought about canceling the contest because of the weather forecast,
but finally were QRV. On Saturday it was raining all the time and we
had no chance to set up our antennas. But finally around 9:30 the rain
got less and we decided to start with with antenna. As you can see on
the picture below we finally made it. Everything was fine for the first
four hours of the contest. QSO rate was not too bad and we worked some
DX from time to time. But then the generator failed. But we were lucky
that we could go on with reduced power on our backup generator. Trying
to fix the problem failed.... Anyhow if you consider this trouble it
worked out very well. The conditions were above normal and we even
worked a couple of stations from the UK which is not so easy from our
location. We tried a few times with stations in EA3 and EA1 but the
duct was not into our direction. We tried to catch the 1000QSOs but
jsut missed it by 6 QSOs.
Lets hope we can fix the generator till the Marconi contest in November
again.
