Again
a wonderful time for contesting on our hill: sunshine and 25
degree, but the days before and after the weekend were horrible.
Expecting Sporadic E in July? We were lucky and had not chaos during
the contest, but some nice tropo. The first time ever during a contest
from this site we worked IO80, and it was our ODX. Also nice Hungary in
KN08. Even if the conditions were not as good as in May we worked quite
some SP, even we had again a phase noise problems with a station on the
Wasserkuppe 40km away. During the night we had the chance to work OK
stations we missed on Saturday afternoon. Also the French stations in
the south west area JN15, JN16, JN25 were very loud and active, we
could work many of them!
On Sunday there was to much trouble in the TV: We had the Wimbledon,
Formula One and the Big Rockmusic Event over the world, that is the
reason why QSO-rates dropped after 11UTC. But everyone had to deal with
it. We ended up with 882 QSOs.
