September Contest 2006
DR 2 X
in JO4Øql on
144.353 MHz
This was really fun and we enjoyed our weekend. Weather on Friday and Saturday was just great. Saturday evening around us there seemed to be rain, at our QTH it started not before the late Sunday morning. QSO counts were really high from beginning on. The first hour 110QSOs, the second 93QSOs, that is not bad. It was really relaxing not to have too much QRM, especially no noise floor. Conditions were above normal. The direction was south-west and north-east. What a pity that there are not too many SPs QRV. But we also missed some we usually have in our log, eg. F6FHP from IN94. This usually is possible in CW, but not this time, anyway we logged TM6CDX from IN94. Really loud was YT6G from JN94 and the also astonishing was the call of TK5EP/p just a couple of minutes before the end. Why was there not more activity from EA? I would say if there is one there is another one, but not this time...
All this was again with a small crew. Two of us setting up the antennas, so again only two systems of 4x6ele DJ9BV. But anyway we were on the air one hour before the contest. Because of a lack of operators we had again to change our standard of two operators, a first and a second. So this time there was only one at the operating position, QSOing and doing computer log, DX-cluster and if the time permits world-wide convers. I hope we can motivate a few more of our guys to spend some hours at the contest QTH in November. Or maybe you live close by and like to join our team? I can tell you, it is really fun, the past results are promissing.
