Marconi Contest 2006

DR 2 X
in JO4Øql on 144.040 MHz

On Saturday just after sunrise we got to see blue sky and the sun. This motivated us to set up the big antenna, 8x6 ele. But this was about all sun we got to see this weekend. Just after the antenna was set up, it began to rain. Very fast everything seemed to work again but half an hour before the contest the amplifier went off. Did you ever have a failure with a Beko? I have never touched a so hot fuse. What was the problem? The holder of the fuse had bad contact....  Glad not loosing the amp we just started in time.

Conditions were just normal and sometimes even below. Highlight was again F6FHP from IN94. C33IU from JN02 also called us twice but every time the QSB was fast and we could not exchange numbers...  What a pity.  It seems that activity in CW is getting lower and lower as CW is not qualifying for the shortwave license anymore.  Anyway we enjoyed it again.

See you again next year!
