What a dream! This is what we call real contest weather! It started in the week before the contest and got even better during the contest weekend. Lovely 25 degrees and a blue sunny sky. On sunday morning just after sunrise the fog was down in the valleys around our location and it got a beautiful day again. We had to watch out bnot to get a sunburn.
We enjoyed the weather from friday evening on when we started setting up the antennas. There was some activity on friday and conditions seemed to be above normal to the United Kingdom. As take off in this direction is not so excellent we did not work too many Gs. On saturday we got QRV with the full equipment around 12 o'clock local time. That is excellent to show some activity and have a clear frequency during the contest. But not this time. Some locals had unbeliveable high phase noise again. Conditions improved during the contest and we got some nice DX into out log: JO99, JO48, JO59, JN02, JN12 and TK.
No chance for us this time to compete. All the others had better conditions and maybe could use ducting. But this years high light is still to come! Marconi Memorial Contest in November. Hope for your call then.
